過往畢業典禮於每年十一或十二月舉行。從2023年開始，香港都會大學每年舉辦兩次畢業典禮，分別於夏季和冬季舉行。

榮譽博士學位頒授典禮每年舉行一次，向傑出人士頒授榮譽博士學位，以表揚他們的卓越成就及對社會的重大貢獻。
