CP - phtoex cover.png‘HKMU is...’ is delighted to present an exhibition that explores and celebrates HKMU’s (formerly The Open University of Hong Kong) cultural and diversified identity, as seen through the lens of our students to represent HKMU’s most symbolic identity of the university campus and learning activities.

HKMU has been uniquely shaped by a crucible of education, economic and cultural influences, resulting in a vastly diverse heritage and identity, which is in turn made up of and influenced by the localised tertiary education within the city. Recognised as one of the most presentable and recognisable educational organisations in Hong Kong, her development had reached great success over the 30 years of endeavour. With the focus on imaging design and digital art, the programme would like to take this opportunity to thank all the opportunities and resources provided by the University and Department over the years.

This exhibition, with the generous support from the Quality Enhancement Measures (QEM) fund, is planned to organise with the key objective to promote photography and visual images with the intention of depicting our university life and atmosphere to our fellow students, schoolmates, colleagues as well as to the general public. In the past, HKMU has been successively organising some exhibitions on campus, with enormous, overwhelming responses from the public, by exhibiting photographic works under ‘HKMU is...’ can create bonds forming across generations, learning activities and artistic genres that establish community and love to the University. The exhibition has been curated to examine personal, aesthetic, story-telling, and experiential responses to HKMU by featuring works of HKMU’s students. These exhibited works also explore the role HKMU plays in forming Hong Kong’s creative education role with visual art and image stimulation to the eyes of both audiences.
