Abstract
Behind the Veil of Hypnagogia is an experimental and thought-provoking film that delves into the enigmatic world of sleep paralysis. Drawing inspiration from personal experiences, the film takes viewers on a mesmerizing exploration of the unknown. The story unfolds around a protagonist who finds himself trapped in a sleep paralysis episode while a television plays vivid depictions of the phenomenon. Divided into four increasingly distorted dreams, each sequence transports the subject through eerie and surreal locations, immersing them in a realm where reality and imagination intertwine. As the dreams intensify, the film aims to evoke a profound sense of disorientation, allowing audiences to question their own perceptions and empathize with the unsettling nature of sleep paralysis. This cinematic artwork invites viewers to contemplate the boundaries between dreams and reality, leaving them with a haunting impression of the uncharted subconscious realm.
