這是一個關於招財貓未成為神之前的原創歷練故事，主角董為了能夠前往人間尋找母親，去衆神求職所應徵面試，成為靈魂收割員(死神)一職的責習生。故事講述主角挑戰責習任務的過程，體現主角與同伴之間的羈絆和經歷困難後的成長，同時表達中心思想：愛與思念是永恆不變的。
